What is Yoga?
Yoga is the ancient practice of asanas, pranayamas, chants, and meditation.
The asanas are the postures or poses we work through to create a that brings us breath awareness, tones your muscles, increases flexibility and relaxes the mind. The asanas coupled with pranayama, control of breath, will discipline the body to ultimately quiet the mind. Yoga is, in essence, the connection of mind, body and spirit. With regular practice we learn to take this state of peace with us off the mat, and begin living our yoga, creating harmony of all things within and around us.
What is Ayurveda?
The word Ayurveda means “the science of life” and is a comprehensive, natural and holistic approach to creating a healthy lifestyle.
An Ayuvedic lifestyle will embody practices to strengthen your immune system, enhance digestion and metabolism, and optimize the body’s natural healing abilities. These practices can both reverse and prevent disease. This whole system approach emphasizes the delicate interconnections between the mind, body and spirit, with the belief that balance in all 3 of your life forces, or Doshas, is necessary for overall health and wellbeing.
